Dr. Alessandro Picelli (MD, PhD) is Assistant Professor of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at Department of Neurosciences, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences, University of Verona, Italy.
He graduated in 2004 from the University of Padua Medical School, Padua, Italy. In 2008 he received his certification in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine from the University of Verona, Verona, Italy. In 2014 he obtained his PhD degree in Experimental Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Applied to Human Locomotor System from the “Sapienza” University in Rome, Rome, Italy.
He authored more than 100 papers indexed in PubMed/MEDLINE.
In 2018 he won the Annual Award of the Italian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine for the Best Young Researcher.
He is former Secretary General of the European Federation of NeuroRehabilitation Societies (EFNR) and Active Member of the International Neurotoxin Association (INA). He is Board Member of the Italian Society of Neurological Rehabilitation (SIRN) and Coordinator of its Stroke Section. He is member of the Italian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (SIMFER).
He is Editorial Board Member of the European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (scientific secretary), Frontiers in Neurology - section Neurorehabilitation (associate editor) and Restorative Neurology and Neuroscience (associate editor).
