Associate Professor Piyapat Dajpratham, MD, is a physiatrist and academic leader at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand. She currently serves as Head of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and has held several senior leadership roles, including Deputy Director of Siriraj Hospital and President of the National Geriatric Medicine Academic Center.
Dr. Dajpratham completed her medical degree at Mahidol University and received specialty training in Rehabilitation Medicine, followed by a clinical fellowship in Neurorehabilitation and Geriatric Rehabilitation at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, University of Melbourne, Australia. She is board-certified in both Rehabilitation Medicine and Family Medicine.
Her clinical and research interests focus on neurorehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation, frailty, and mobility, with particular emphasis on stroke rehabilitation, fall prevention, and innovative approaches to improve balance and functional independence in older adults. She has contributed extensively to the field through numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbooks, and national clinical practice guidelines, and has led multidisciplinary initiatives to enhance quality of care and patient outcomes.
Dr. Dajpratham is actively involved in education, research, and international collaboration, and has played key roles in national professional organizations in rehabilitation medicine. Her work integrates evidence-based practice with practical implementation, particularly in resource-limited and aging societies.
She is honored to be a speaker at the 20th ISPRM World Congress, presenting on “Innovation for Balance and Mobility in Frail Elderly: From Theory to Practice,” where she shares insights on translating scientific concepts into real-world clinical applications.
