Prof. Rajiv Reebye is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) specialist and Clinical Professor in the department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada.
He is the Program Director for the Neuro-rehabilitation and Spasticity fellowship program in the Division of PMR, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC Canada.
He is Chair of the ISPRM (International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) Spasticity Special Interest Group, designing educational modules for spasticity education worldwide.
He has a special clinical and research interest in spasticity management including use of ultrasound for anatomy teaching, curriculum design, evaluation and targeting of spastic muscles and multimodal therapy in spasticity management.
He is an attending physician on the inpatient and outpatient neuro-musculoskeletal/acquired brain injury programs at GF Strong Rehabilitation Center, Vancouver, Canada.
He is also a consulting physician in the spinal cord clinic at BC Children’s Hospital and at the UBC Multiple Sclerosis Clinic.
Prof. Reebye is the director of the New Westminster Rehabilitation Medicine spasticity clinic- a community based university teaching site and spasticity clinic.
Prof. Reebye teaches locally and internationally on the use of ultrasound guided injections for spasticity management.
Prof. Reebye received the 2022 Meredith Marks Award (the highest national award for medical education) awarded by the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for Excellence in Education.
Prof. Reebye was awarded as co-director of CANOSC- the 2022 Haim Ring Award by the International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ISPRM) for excellence in International educational exchanges and collaboration.
Prof. Reebye is the co-founder of the Canadian advances in neuro-orthopedics for spasticity consortium (CANOSC).
He is a research stream member of the WHO World Rehabilitation Alliance (WRA) Network promoting the WHO Rehabilitation 2030 mandate and involved in delivering spasticity educational programs in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
