Beom Suk Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at Chung-Ang University College of Medicine. He earned his M.D., M.S., and Ph.D. from Korea University College of Medicine. His professional background includes serving as the Director of Rehabilitation Centers at Armed Forces Hospitals and completing a fellowship at Seoul National University Hospital.
Dr. Kim specializes in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and pain medicine, with a strong focus on AI-convergence research. He is currently the Principal Investigator for a National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) grant aimed at developing AI-based identification systems for venous insufficiency-related skin diseases. His research, which explores deep learning applications in ultrasonography and neuromuscular recognition, has been widely published in prestigious international journals.
Dr. Kim is particularly dedicated to expanding the scope of physiatry by pioneering the integration of chronic venous disease management into rehabilitation medicine. To further this clinical mission, he completed specialized training as a Visiting Observer in Vascular Medicine at Stanford University and gained advanced clinical insights at the Ochanomizu Vascular & Vein Clinic in Tokyo, a renowned center for venous disorders. By combining his expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound and pain management with these international perspectives, he is establishing comprehensive rehabilitation protocols for venous-related conditions.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kim has been recognized for his contributions to both military and clinical medicine, receiving the Prime Minister’s Citation and multiple academic awards for his work in neuromusculoskeletal ultrasound.
