Yukiyo Shimizu, MD, PhD (she/her/hers)

Yukiyo Shimizu, MD, PhD, is an associate professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Institute of Medicine, University of Tsukuba. She graduated from the University of Tsukuba in 2000 and began her career as an orthopedic doctor at the University of Tsukuba Hospital in 2001. She became a board-certified orthopedic doctor in 2011 and a board-certified rehabilitation doctor in 2014. She received her Ph.D. in medical science in 2017. Her research interests include medical rehabilitation: prescription and development of novel orthoses and prostheses, robotic rehabilitation, and adaptive sports. She is also a specialist in rehabilitation for spinal cord injury.
