David Balser is an Assistant Professor and a practicing clinician at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. He is board certified in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, having completed his residency at the University of Minnesota and his fellowship at MetroHealth in Cleveland. His notable research accomplishments include his work as an investigator in the Epidural Stimulation for Neurologic Damage (ESTAND) trial, a clinical trial of epidural stimulation to improve motor function in individuals with paraplegia. He continues to do research in the field of spinal cord injury and spasticity.
