Prof. Dr Gita Handa Thukral MD
Prof Gita is working as Professor at Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Her 25 years of experience in the field of PMR encompasses the fields of Spinal Injury Rehabilitation, Stroke Rehabilitation, Sports Injury Rehabilitation, Foot Rehabilitation, Amputee Rehabilitation, Paediatric Rehabilitation and Pain Management. She is also Stanford India Biodesign Fellow and faculty of School of International Biodesign at AIIMS, New Delhi. She has authored many Papers in Journals, Book Chapters, Patents and has guided more than 50 students (MD, PhD, MS, Msc, Biodesign fellows) from AIIMS and other institutions. Prof Gita Handa Thukral is recipient of many Gold Medals in Academics and Research. She is President of IPARM (Indian Association of PMR, Delhi Chapter) and member of IAPMR, IASP, Msk ultrasound Society of India, and ISPRM. She has worked on developing and supporting development of Innovative health technologies in collaboration with various technical institutions and startups. Currently she is working in areas related to Rehabilitation Technology Innovation and development at ICMR funded, National Centre for Assistive Health Technologies , AIIMS New Delhi wherein she is involved in mentoring and guiding next generation of the assistive health technology enthusiasts and developing an ecosytem to help bridge the gap between technology development and clinical validation and get the best innovative health technology available for the persons who need it to improve their quality of life.
