Dr. Young is the Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with the Canadian Armed Forces. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University, Dr. Young went on to complete her Family Medicine residency training from the University of British Columbia, Victoria and Rural Program. She served in the Canadian Armed Forces in various roles in clinics, deployed and supporting members with environmental training in both Advance Dive and Flight Surgeon courses. She went on to complete Specialist training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and interventional musculoskeletal pain medicine with the University of Ottawa.
