I was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco. I am the second of three siblings.
My father was born in Durango, Mexico. My mother was born on a small island in Nayarit: Mexcaltitán. They comes from a large family with limited resources.
Both are hardworking people, and both work in healthcare.
Since I was little, I have understood the value of work, the passion for helping others, and the importance of providing dignified and useful healthcare services.
Thanks to my parents' efforts, I always had access to education; I never lacked anything.
I initially studied nursing and got a job at 21 with the Mexican Social Security Institute. Alongside this job, I ran a martial arts school; I am a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do.
I decided to study medicine at 24, combining my passion for exercise, training, and physical and motor development with healthcare. I decided to use my martial arts practice to benefit patients. That's how I found my path in rehabilitation and exercise physiology.
At the institute, I changed my specialization to medicine. I am currently an attending physician in a rehabilitation unit in León, Guanajuato. In my practice, I implement exercise programs adapted to different conditions. I have actively participated in the last two COMEFYR congresses as a coordinator, speaker, and presenter of clinical case posters.
I hope that our participation in ISPRM can provide significant evidence for the implementation of personalized exercise programs in different segments of the population, with different health conditions and diseases.
