Objectives : To evaluate the results of gonarthrosis treatment with hyaluronic acid under ultrasound guidance in patients attending consultations at the Somefyr IPS in Cúcuta.
Design: Prospective, longitudinal, and analytical study. 43 patients were included and a numerical pain scale was administered before and after hyaluronic acid application, as well as before and after the application of hyaluronic acid, evaluating the total result and each item, with assessments performed on the first day and between 4 and 6 weeks after the last session.
Results: Patients at the Somefyr Cúcuta IPS showed improvement in pain reduction and also in the functional scale in all its items, mainly those related to the degree of difficulty in performing activities involving movement or weight-bearing, although an improvement was also found in the stiffness they previously presented.
Conclusion: Este estudio demostró que la Gonartrosis afecta la calidad de vida de los pacientes con manifestación en dolor, rigidez y en la realización de actividades diarias comunes evidenciando mejoría en los parámetros luego de la aplicación de acido hialuronico lo cual convierte este tratamiento una herramienta efectiva que mejora clínicamente y que está en acuerdo con lo previamente establecido en la literatura.
