Robert Teasell MD FRCPC, Professor and previous Chair-Chief, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Schulich Shcool of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University, London, Ontario, Canada. He has been the past director of stroke rehabilitaiton at Parkwood Insitute, London. Dr. Teasell is the editor and founder of the Stroke Rehabilitation Evidence-Based Review (www.ebrsr.com) which was initially published in 2002, and is now its 20th edition. The EBRSR is a comprehensive online resource which was freely available for use by clinicians and researchers. It has been used to inform Clinical Practice Guidelines, in Canada and around the world, most recently the Canadian Best Practice Guidelines 2025. Dr. Teasell is also the led investigator of the Stroke Rehabilitation Super Database of Randomized Controlled Trials whcih is an innovative and unique stroke rehab evidence database of 3602 motor and cognitive stroke rehab RCTs, to the end of 2024, being updated to the end of 2025. The SRSDB is becoming an important platform by providing crucial and comprehensive knowledge of “what has gone before” across the continuum of stroke rehab, to better focus research resources and improve efficiencies as well as provide a wider context for the research. Dr. Teasell is also lead investigator of the Evidence-Based Review of Acquired Brain Injury (ERABI) (www..erabi.ca) and co-lead investigator of a similar evidence based review in spinal cord injury rehabilitation (SCIR) (www.scireproject.com). Dr. Teasell has given 83 invited international presentations and has received numerous awards, including giving the Hnatyshyn lecture (leading lecture in stroke in Canada), the Post-Acute Stroke Excellence Award from the American Congress of Rehabilitation and National Storke Association (United States) and has chaired or been involved with innumerable clinical practice guidelines. Dr. Teasell is the author of 425 peer-reviewed articles, 22 book chapters and 72 monographs, is involved in grants worth over $34 million.
