Niña Carmela R. Tamayo, DO MS MPH is a board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician with training in spinal cord injury. She is the CEO of Prime Directives PM&R and works as a locum doctor throughout the United States.
Dr. Tamayo has expertise in neurorehabilitation with a special focus on spinal cord, stroke, brain injury, and neurodegenerative conditions. She has special interests in travel and disability, performing arts medicine, universal design, community integration through health care technology and artificial intelligence. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Tamayo sits on the ASIA Rehab Standards Committee and the AAP Global Academic Physiatrists, serves on the executive committee of the AAPM&R International Rehab and Global Health Community, and is the president of the 501c3 nonprofit organization, the Philippine American Physiatrist Association.
