Dr. Iffat Islam Khan, MBBS, PMR Specialist, Assistant Professor at BIHS General Hospital, Dhaka, is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician trained at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Bangladesh.
She has specialized expertise in musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasonography and ultrasound-guided interventional procedures. Her clinical and academic interests include neurorehabilitation, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and pain management, with a strong focus on improving functional outcomes and quality of life. In addition, she is actively engaged in exploring the impact of climate change on disability and rehabilitation systems, and has completed training in European Climate Resilient Health Systems as well as the South and Southeast Asia Climate and Health Responder program.
Dr. Khan is an active member of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) since 2020, where she serves on the Youth Forum Board and represents Bangladesh as an Individual Member Representative. At the national level, she is a Life Member and currently serves as Secretary of International Affairs of the Bangladesh Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (BSPMR).
Her contributions to rehabilitation medicine and global health have been recognized internationally, including being awarded the ISPRM President’s Grant on two occasions.
