We were able to collect data from 17 female patients under the age of 20. Among these female patients, 5 experienced malaise during urodynamic testing. The mean age of these patients was 17 years. Among the 5 patients, 2 had indwelling catheters. The procedure was performed under conditions designed to ensure patient comfort; however, all five girls were highly anxious from the outset of the procedure. We continuously reassured the patients throughout the procedure and attempted to offer music therapy as a distraction technique In two patients,we were forced to prematurely terminate the procedure before reaching100 ml of bladder filling, as the patients refused to continue. It is important to note that catheterization was performed without any obstruction or pain for the patients.
Conclusion: The urodynamic procedure and its steps are not painful. However, in our context, bodily modesty especially among young girls often leads to increased stress, which may make the procedure more challenging, even though the difficulty is not related to the technique or to pain. This highlights the importance of strengthened pre-procedural therapeutic education for this specific group of patients.
