Primary
Objective:
- To identify and classify electrodiagnostic patterns in adult cancer patients presenting with neuromuscular symptoms.
Secondary
Objectives:
- To determine the diagnostic yield of NCS/EMG in this population.
- To quantify frequencies of major diagnostic categories: polyneuropathy, mononeuropathy, radiculopathy, plexopathy, myopathy, and normal studies.
Design: - Diagnostic pattern classification study using NCS/EMG evaluations performed in the EMG Laboratory, Department of PM&R.
<
Results:
Expected Outcomes:
- Identification of electrodiagnostic phenotypes in adult cancer patients
- Assessment of diagnostic utility of NCS/EMG
- Insight into potential associations with cancer types to guide clinical care and rehabilitation
Conclusion: NCS and EMG provide critical diagnostic information in adult cancer patients with neuromuscular symptoms, enabling early recognition of neuropathic or myopathic patterns, guiding clinical management, and supporting rehabilitation planning.
