Objectives: Presentation of the Physical Function Impact Index on Chronic Pain (PFIICP), a novel questionnaire to evaluate the physical functional impact on chronic pain
Design: Formative measurement model to focus only on the relationship between physical performance and the subject´s pain
Results: data collected from 285 patients at baseline and 58 at follow up, 3 to 6 months later Spearman's correlations between the 12 items ranged from 0.153 to 0.793 Intraclass correlation coefficcient was 0.788 Strong Person correlations with BPI (r=0.739) and PDI(r=0.739)
Conclusions: PFIICP is a ronust tool for assessing the functional impact of chronic pain through a formative model approach
